Film Equipment Rental in Fort Lauderdale
ASK Media Productions rents lighting, grip and electric into Fort Lauderdale and Broward County from our own inventory. Everything below is ours – it is not sub-rented from a third party on the morning of your shoot, which is the difference between a package that arrives and a package that might.
Lighting
- ARRI M40 and M18 HMI – daylight punch for exteriors, window pulls and anything that has to compete with Florida sun.
- ARRI SkyPanel S60 and S30 – the soft-source standard. Full colour control, and fast to reconfigure between setups.
- Aputure STORM series – XT52, Electro Storm XT26 and STORM 1200x, plus the Spotlight Max for hard-edged and gobo work.
- Aputure LS – 1200d Pro, 600d Pro, 600c, 600x, 300x, p300 Nova, MC kits and B7C bulbs for practicals.
- LiteGear LiteMats – 2L, S2 LiteMat 2 and 4, LiteMat Plus 4. Thin, riggable, and the answer to a low ceiling.
- Astera Titans and NYX bulbs, plus LitePanel Astra 6x – wireless, battery, no cable run needed.
Grip, electric and trucks
- 3-ton and 2-ton grip trucks, packaged and ready to roll.
- 1-ton Sprinter package for smaller days, tighter streets and locations a three-ton cannot reach.
- Tow-plant generator for full-scale location power.
- Honda generators at 7000, 3000 and 2000 watts – quiet enough to sit near a set, sized for what you actually need rather than what fits on the truck.
Cameras and glass are on our Fort Lauderdale camera rental page, and the whole catalogue lives under equipment rental.
Power is the thing people under-plan
A lighting order is really a power order. Most South Florida location days come apart over amperage, not fixtures – a house circuit that will not carry an M18, a beach permit that rules out a tow-plant, a condo garage with nowhere to park a three-ton. Tell us the location and the look when you book and we will size the generator and the truck to it. That conversation takes ten minutes and saves an afternoon.
Rates, pickup and delivery
Packages book daily, flat, or as a three-day week. We quote rather than publish a rate card, because the honest number depends on what is actually going out and for how long.
Free delivery runs to a five-mile radius of the Boynton Beach base. Fort Lauderdale is outside it, so a Broward job is either a pickup or a delivery for a fee – and if a truck is going out anyway, that changes the maths. Ask and we will tell you which way is cheaper. Out-of-state orders ship via airline cargo. Anything collected Friday and returned Monday bills as a single day.
Working in Broward
Fort Lauderdale packs a lot into twenty minutes – Las Olas, downtown, the port, the beach, the airport – which is good for a schedule and hard on a truck. Parking and staging decide more Broward days than the shot list does, and the permit that covers your location may not cover where the truck sits. Our producers handle Fort Lauderdale and Broward County permitting if you would rather that came with the gear; that side of things is on our Fort Lauderdale production page.
Questions we get asked
Can I rent lighting without a crew?
Yes. Gear goes out on its own, or with a gaffer and grips if you would rather it arrived with people who know it.
How is a rental priced?
Daily, flat, or a three-day week, depending on the job.
Do you deliver to Fort Lauderdale?
For a fee – free delivery covers five miles around Boynton Beach. Pickup is always available, and out-of-state goes by airline cargo.
What do I need to provide?
Production rental insurance, and auto liability as well if you are taking one of the trucks.
