Camera Rental in Fort Lauderdale

ASK Media Productions rents cinema camera packages into Fort Lauderdale and Broward County from our own inventory in Boynton Beach – a straight run down I-95, and close enough that a morning pickup still makes a morning call time. Bodies, glass, media and support go out together, prepped and checked, not pulled off a shelf and handed over.

The bodies

  • ARRI Alexa 35 – the current reference for dynamic range and skin tones. What you want when the grade matters and the client is watching.
  • ARRI Alexa Mini LF – large format in a body small enough for a gimbal, a car rig or a tight interior.
  • ARRI Alexa Mini – still the workhorse. Super 35, proven, and it does not argue with anything.
  • RED Komodo 6K – compact global shutter. Crash cam, drone, car mount, second unit.
  • Sony PXW-FX9 – full frame with a genuinely good autofocus system, for documentary and long-form interview days.
  • Sony ILME-FX6 and FX3 – small, fast and light. Gimbal work, handheld, run-and-gun, anything that has to move.

Glass

A camera is a decision about the lens in front of it, so the glass goes out matched and tested.

  • ARRI Signature Primes 18, 25, 47, 75, 125 – large format, soft falloff, the current look for high-end commercial work.
  • ARRI Ultra Primes 16, 24, 35, 50, 85 and Super Speeds MK1 18, 25, 35, 50, 85 – clean and characterful respectively.
  • Sigma Cine set 14, 20, 25, 35, 50, 85, 135 – a complete, fast, consistent set that covers most jobs without a compromise.
  • Angenieux Optimo 28-76 and the EZ series, plus the Fujinon Cabrio 19-90 – zooms for when the schedule will not allow lens changes.
  • DZO Pictor 20-55 and 50-125 T2.8, Sony G-Master primes and zooms, and Canon L series for documentary and hybrid days.

Need lighting, grip or a truck with it? That is on our Fort Lauderdale film equipment rental page, and the full catalogue sits under equipment rental.

Rates, pickup and delivery

Gear books daily, flat, or as a three-day week – whichever suits the shape of the job. Tell us the camera, the look and the number of days and we will spec the package and quote it; we do not publish rate cards because a two-day brand spot and a three-week series are not the same conversation.

Two practical things worth knowing. Gear that goes out Friday and comes back Monday bills as one day, which makes a weekend shoot considerably cheaper than people expect. And delivery is free inside a five-mile radius of the Boynton Beach base – Fort Lauderdale sits outside that, so it is either a pickup or a delivery for a fee, and we will tell you which is cheaper for your dates. Out-of-state jobs ship via airline cargo.

Shooting in Fort Lauderdale

Most of what books here touches water at some point – yachts, marinas, the New River, the Intracoastal, waterfront builds, the boat show. Water work punishes a loose plan: tide and light windows are fixed, a camera boat is a location with a schedule of its own, and the wrong body on a wet day is an expensive afternoon. Tell us where you are shooting when you book and we will spec accordingly rather than after the fact.

Away from the water, Las Olas, downtown, the port, the beach and the airport all sit inside twenty minutes of each other, which makes Fort Lauderdale one of the easier South Florida days to schedule – if the gear arrives on time.

Questions we get asked

How do your rental rates work?

Three ways: daily, flat, or a three-day week. Which one is cheapest depends on the shoot, and we will tell you honestly which applies to yours.

Do you deliver to Fort Lauderdale?

Yes, for a fee. Free delivery covers a five-mile radius of our Boynton Beach base, and Fort Lauderdale is beyond it. Pickup from Boynton is always an option, and for out-of-state work we ship via airline cargo.

If I take gear out Friday, when is it due back?

Monday, billed as a single day.

What insurance do I need?

Production rental insurance. If a vehicle goes out with you, auto liability as well.

Send the dates, the camera and roughly what you are shooting, and you will get a spec and a price the same day. Call or text ASK Media at 954-683-3173, or send us the details. Shooting a full production rather than renting? We crew and produce in Fort Lauderdale too – that is over here.
